Tower of Fantasy Combat System: Briefly Explained

Tower of Fantasy has a combat system very similar to Genshin Impact. However, there’s a lot more depth to it. On this page, we want to go through the combat system, at least in brief, to tell you how everything works. This means that if you get a Tower of Fantasy account for sale, you’ll know what’s going on.

The Weapons

There are fourteen different Tower of Fantasy weapons in the game, and one of your early challenges is to choose which ones work for you. Most of this will come from selecting the weapons that seem to fit your play style, as well as which ones are getting upgraded from the various pulls you have. Thankfully, the Tower of Fantasy combat system encourages you to have three weapons at once. Always make sure one of these is ranged, but you can experiment with everything else:

  • Bow
  • Chakram
  • Dual Blades
  • Dual Pistols
  • EM Blasters
  • Greatsword
  • Long Spear
  • Maul
  • Omnium Weapon
  • Rifle
  • Scythe
  • Shield
  • Spear
  • Stave
  • Sword

Weapon Rarity

There are three weapon rarities in the game – R, SR, and SSR. You want your weapons to be SR or SSR (preferably the latter). You can only get these when you are pulling from gacha. However, every so often, there’ll be events that make grabbing some of these weapons a lot easier.

Elements

A good chunk of your time in Tower of Fantasy will be ensuring that you get the right elements on your weapons. You need these for facing off against certain mobs, as well as solving puzzles. You only get the extra damage, and the effect, if your weapon is fully-charged, so make sure that you’re smacking as many enemies as possible (the charge stat on your weapon increases charge speed):

  • Ice: freezes targets
  • Fire: causes damage over time.
  • Lightening: will paralyze the target.
  • Grievous: will increase damage against the target for 7 seconds.

Weapon Classes

You’ll notice each weapon in Tower of Fantasy has a class. If you have 2 weapons of the same class, you’ll get an extra bonus (the classes are DPS, Defense, or Support).

  • When you have no class, damage is increased by 5% on the final heat.
  • Fortitude is when you have two defense weapons. This reduces damage to you by 25%, and reduces shatter against you by 60%.
  • Brute Force is for 2 DPS weapons. This increases damage by 10%.
  • Blessing is two support weapons. This increases healing by 100%.
