Moogles
Moogles are monsters in the Final Fantasy series, but some people may think of them as a race because they can think and feel. But they are good monsters, like Nektar in Final Fantasy 16. Nektar is in charge of the Notorious Marks board, which is how players will see some of the crazier creatures in the game. Since Final Fantasy 3, when they first showed up, Moogles have been a mainstay, even though their looks change. Nectar’s small body, which looks like a bear, is one of the cuter changes in a long time.
Bomb
One of the most dangerous monsters in the Final Fantasy series is the bomb. When they were first seen in Final Fantasy 2, they were big balls with teeth. Most of the time, they are shown as red or orange spheres with fire shooting out of the tops. The more they get hit, the more likely it is that they will explode, which can do a lot of damage to the party. In Final Fantasy 16, they look creepy, like lava-covered skulls that have come back to life. This is, to say the least, disturbing.
Red Mousse
Red Mousse, like Bombs, also showed up in Final Fantasy 2. But Red Mousse isn’t the only monster in this series that looks like jelly. Flans are the more accepted name for these piles of goo. Fans will know more about this type of monster than about the creatures that look like Mousse.
It doesn’t matter what they are called because their bodies are all pretty much the same. They are intelligent jellies, and this game gives them a leg up by giving them terrible teeth and limbs that they can use to attack Clive in Final Fantasy 16.
Iron Giant
Iron Giant is not the same as The Iron Giant, a cartoon movie from the late 1990s. The Final Fantasy Iron Giants are much more dangerous because they wear huge armor and carry swords that would make Cloud’s Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7 blush. In Final Fantasy 2, they were only seen very rarely. The first Iron Giant in Final Fantasy 16 is a boss and one of the hardest ones. There are a lot of cool things about this remake, like the spiked shield, the sword that looks like a gunblade, and the chest that looks like it came from a Heartless.
Ahriman
Ahriman was one of the final bosses in FF3, which made him a big deal at first. From then on, it became just another monster that you might meet in these games. In most pictures, they look like big eyes with bat wings. That’s about how the one in Final Fantasy 16 looks, except it has skinny legs and liver spots that make it look old. Even though it’s no longer a boss, it’s still a tough enemy in Snow Rider 3D. It can cast Doom, which will kill players quickly if they don’t get out of the way.
Lich
At first, Lich was another big monster in the series. In the first Final Fantasy game, it was one of the Four Fiends that ran the world. Designs change, but every Lich after this one looked mostly the same, though the Grim Reaper-like look got a few tweaks.
FF16 is the first game in the series to change things up in a big way. Lich now looks like an alien with no face or a naked deep blue or purple Slender Man with a scythe.
Behemoth
Behemoth first showed up in Final Fantasy 2, but it was an idea piece of art for the first Final Fantasy. In the picture, a big purple beast was fighting what looked like one of the Four Warriors of Light. It didn’t seem too scary when it first showed up in FF2, but as the series went on, the Behemoth became scarier and more well-known. Final Fantasy 15’s version is probably still the biggest in the series, but Final Fantasy 16’s new design adds some scary things that make it just as scary. The Behemoth has spikes all over it, can stand on its own, and can throw meteors at Clive like it’s nothing.
Coeurl
Coeurl is another monster from FF2 that hasn’t changed much in appearance since the game came out. It looks like a cat, sometimes with spots, and has long whiskers that look like tentacles. In this game, the monster is also a spotted cat, but its limbs are much scarier than before. The tentacles are longer and look like power cables connected to two huge daggers. Coeurl can also shock its enemies by sending electricity through its body. In Final Fantasy 16, it first shows up as a boss before Clive has to fight Kupka and then Eikon has to fight Titan.
Final Fantasy 16 came out on June 22, 2023, and you can get it on the PS5.
